The Rhode Island Horseman's Association Incorporated (RIHA) was established to encourage and promote all horse activities in Rhode Island, and to join together the horsemen of Rhode Island in a cooperative interest in horse activities, especially in horse shows and breeding.

Ocean State Hunt Club Horse Shows Added to the Calendar

  The Ocean State Hunt Club horse shows have now been affiliated with the RIHA. The first show is next weekend on February 14th!

2010 Open Meeting

The Annual Open Meeting will be held on February 8th, 2010 at the Providence Sheraton Airport Hotel in Warwick, starting at 6:30pm. We invite all members to attend to meet the Board of Directors, ask questions, make suggestions, or just see how the RIHA works. Don't miss out on your chance to be a part of the organization!

Joseph Ferrucci Scholarship Fund

The Heritage Equestrian Center Horse Shows will be holding four equitation classics:

Short Stirrup Eq Classic
Childrens/Modified Adult Eq Classic
Junior Eq Classic
Adult Eq Classic

The entries from these four classes will be donated to the Joseph Ferrucci Scholarship fund. Entry fee is only $10.00. We hope you will consider riding in these classics to show your support for the Ferrucci family, members of the RIHA horse show community. Donations can be sent to:

New RIEC Qualifying Rules

Effective immediately, the following changes went into effect for qualifying for the RIEC Junior Medal and the RIEC Amateur Adult Medal Finals. For the 2010 finals, one (1) first place finish or two (2) second place finishes qualifies for the finals, and only three (3) riders must complete the course for the qualifying class to count. NO changes were made to the Junior Mini Medal or Adult Mini Medal qualification specifications.

Horse/Pony Registration Reminder

The points secretary would like to remind all members (especially Life Members!!) to register your horse/pony for 2010. If you do not register your mount with RIHA, you WILL NOT ACCUMULATE POINTS. Type (horse or pony), sex, size and breed must all be included.
