The RIHA is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a RI member entering college or graduate school. The scholarship will be awarded at the RI Equitation Championships in September.

All applicants must be a current member in good standing of the RIHA.

All essays must be received by August 15th (NEW DATE!!) to be considered.

Each applicant must submit a 2-3 page essay typed and double-spaced to:

As the scholarship committee would like the selection process to be completely unbiased and each applicant anonymous, Cindy will remove all reference to name and address of the applicant, assign a number to each essay, and forward it on to the committee chair who will distribute it to the committee members. Please only put your name at the top right hand corner of the page. If any indication is given to cause the committee to recognize the applicant, the essay will be eliminated from consideration.

All essays will be assessed according to: content, organization and mechanics (i.e., punctuation, spelling and sentence structure). This award will be judged on the essay alone, financial need will not be evaluated.
